About The Position

As a Government Operations Consultant III, you will play a critical role in maintaining Refugee Services databases, analyzing data, and developing key documents related to the Refugee Services program. This position is located at the DCF headquarters in Tallahassee in the Office of Information Technology Services (OITS). The position is full-time, in-person.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a relevant field.
  • Three or more years of professional experience developing SQL queries, database objects, reports, or applications in a relational database environment.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Oracle tools (including database and Application Express), and Microsoft Access.
  • Hands-on experience with database performance tuning, query optimization, indexing strategies, and database administration.
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and familiarity with grant compliance requirements.
  • Intermediate to advanced level of experience with SQL.

  • Understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Proficiency in computer programming languages and software.
  • Knowledge of database design principles, query optimization and storage management.
  • Ability to design programs and systems logic.
  • Experience in application tool of Oracle APEX.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain refugee programs data and produce reports. Converts and exports data in MS Access databases to the Oracle database as required.
  • Write, modify, and optimize SQL queries, including creating stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
  • Design, develop and maintain databases to ensure data integrity and optimal performance.
  • Design, develop, and maintain applications using Oracle Application Express (APEX).
  • Troubleshoot and debug database related issues.
  • Implement data security measures to protect sensitive information.
  • Evaluate requests for new data elements and system functionality.
  • Manage and maintain the infrastructure of the Refugee Services information systems.
  • Apply system changes according to established change management processes.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for Refugee Services data systems and reporting.
  • Analyze complex business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Provide recommendations to management regarding system enhancements, data governance, and reporting strategies.
  • Communicate progress, obstacles, and accomplishments to leadership.
  • Document database processes as a reference for future troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Provide technical assistance to the DCF program offices, service provider agencies and county governments.
  • Perform other duties as required.
