This is a highly responsible and professional position serving as a Government Operations Consultant III within the Prevention office. Specific Duties and Responsibilities include: This position serves as an Overdose Prevention Order and Technical Support Specialist within the SAMH Program Office. This position will collaborate with each section within the program office and be required to use independent judgement, take initiative in carrying out duties and responsibilities and should be extraordinarily detail oriented. This position will support the OPP by managing recurring and adhoc orders for naloxone, keychains, and naloxone boxes, which contain breathing guards and nitrile gloves for over 620+ enrolled distributors. This position will also provide technical assistance and support, including following-up on incident reports pertaining to naloxone and overdose events, best practices for naloxone distribution, and other reporting questions and concerns that arise. This position will also manage the reporting needs of the program. For 500+ organizations, this position will export, review, and verify, data for kits distributed of 3mg, 4mg, and 8mg, naloxone and reversals reported. Export, review, and verify the sign-in sheets for the community based trainings executed by the enrolled distributors. Once the enrolled distributors who have not reported have been identified, this position will conduct outreach, first by email, and then by phone, individually to the entities that have not reported. Once all available data has been exported, reviewed, and verified, this position will compile the data in a clear and concise manner for the review of the program coordinator. Export all orders, including 3mg, 4mg, and 8mg, from the system and collect orders from the Enrollment Specialist, submit the orders in the appropriate and applicable way, whether it be through a vendor portal or through the pharmacy technician at the state pharmacy. Ensure all orders are complete and correct. Reach out to organizations whose orders are not clear. Submit recurring monthly orders in the appropriate applicable way. Provide technical support for ordering, reporting, and best practices for naloxone distribution implementation. Obtain information and maintaining the database of organizations listed on ISAVEFL, ensuring the database is up to date with correct information. Collect all orders for keychains, which include breathing guards and nitrile gloves, and naloxone boxes, submit orders to the vendor, monitor expenditures, and track orders for all 620+ enrolled distributors. Follow-up on incident reports that are submitted through the incident reporting system that pertain to naloxone or overdose events, providing technical support to help ensure these events are less prevalent. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree from a college or university is preferred and four years of professional experience in behavioral or public health.
  • A master's degree from a college or university can substitute for one year of the required experience.
  • Professional experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
  • Two years’ experience in implementing and managing complex projects.
  • Two years of experience with academic, business, or technical writing.
  • Knowledge of basic management principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis.
  • Ability to coordinate a consultative program designed to ensure the resolution of managerial and operational problems.
  • Ability to determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of work assignments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
