About The Position

The Arkansas State Golf Association (ASGA) is seeking an individual for a six-month internship in golf administration focused on communications and marketing. The intern will assist ASGA staff with media coordination for state championships for men, women, and juniors; USGA qualifying; and other ASGA membership and service programs. The position is based in Little Rock, Arkansas, and requires travel within the state. Compensation is approximately $2,000 per month, and ASGA staff apparel and other compensation for job-related expenses are provided.

Requirements

College degree completed or in process.
Willingness to work in a team-oriented structure with an emphasis on customer service.
Willingness to travel within the state and access to reliable transportation.
Excellent communications and public relations skills.
Outstanding writing and editing skills.
Strong work ethic and self-motivation.
Planning a career in sports administration or a related field.
Strong computer skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience in photography, video, social media, and related programs.
Golf background or strong interest in golf.

Responsibilities

Coordinate with local and statewide media to promote upcoming events.
Interview players and write championship recaps throughout the season.
Take photographs and capture video footage.
Conduct, write, and distribute news and press releases.
Update the ASGA.org website with relevant ASGA news and information about other Arkansas golf events.
Update and create the ASGA E-Newsletter, Monday Mulligan.
Assist in managing ASGA social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Create new and unique promotional tools and activities.
Assist ASGA staff with media coordination for men’s, women’s, and junior state championships, USGA qualifying, and other membership and service programs.
