About The Position

The Arkansas State Golf Association (ASGA) is seeking a well-rounded individual for a six-month internship in golf administration focused on communications and marketing. The intern will support ASGA staff with media coordination for state championships for men, women, and juniors; USGA qualifying; and other ASGA membership and service programs. The role includes promoting events, producing written and visual content, maintaining ASGA communications channels, and developing promotional activities.

Requirements

College degree completed or in process.
Willingness to work in a team-oriented structure emphasizing customer service.
Willingness to travel within the state and have reliable transportation.
Excellent communications and public relations skills.
Outstanding writing and editing skills.
Strong work ethic and self-motivation.
Planning a career in sports administration or a related field.
Strong computer skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience in photography, video, social media, and related programs.
Golf background or strong interest in golf.

Responsibilities

Coordinate with local and statewide media to promote upcoming events.
Interview players and write championship recaps throughout the season.
Take photographs and capture video footage.
Conduct, write, and distribute news and press releases.
Update the ASGA.org website with relevant news about ASGA and other Arkansas golf events.
Update and create the ASGA e-newsletter, Monday Mulligan.
Assist in managing ASGA social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Create new and unique promotional tools and activities.
Assist ASGA staff with media coordination for men’s, women’s, and juniors’ state championships, USGA qualifying, and other membership and service programs.
