About The Position

The GO Tutor Corps Teacher Residency is a school-based teaching apprenticeship for aspiring educators pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) and teacher certification. The residency runs from August 2027 through June 2028 and is designed to span one to two years. Residents are placed in partner schools and gain hands-on classroom experience through a gradual-release model under the guidance of a Mentor Teacher, while combining daily practice with graduate coursework, coaching, and mentorship. After acceptance, residents apply to and enroll in an MAT program through a graduate-school partner. Available focus areas include Elementary Education, K–12 Special Education, English Language Arts, Science, Math, and History. Tuition varies by program, from $11,000 to $25,000 per year. Residents also receive targeted coaching, professional development, and leadership training. The residency year includes a $22,000 stipend, prorated according to start date, and housing support. Successful residents may move into a full-time, salaried teaching role in Year 2, ideally at their residency placement site.
