About The Position

SpaceX is seeking an experienced Global Supply Manager to own end-to-end sourcing strategy, supplier management, and delivery for leading-edge datacenter switches and optics spanning 400G through 1.6T and beyond. The role partners with responsible engineers to define commodity strategy, build technology roadmaps, maintain approved vendor lists, and secure supply in support of SpaceX's rapid build cadence. It includes negotiating high-impact agreements, accelerating delivery, managing inventory, and optimizing cost, quality, speed, and supply-chain resilience for an AI infrastructure program. The successful candidate will bring strong commercial acumen and a record of delivering results in hyperscale networking hardware procurement. The position is based onsite in Austin, Texas, and requires domestic and international travel as needed. Applicants must meet U.S. Government export-control eligibility requirements or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 6 or more years of experience in business, supply chain, or engineering; alternatively, 10 or more years of experience in one or more of those areas.
  • At least 5 years of experience in global supply chain, procurement, sourcing, or commodity management focused on hardware, semiconductors, networking, or datacenter infrastructure.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
  • Ability to work onsite in Austin, Texas.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, qualifying refugee, qualifying asylee, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical understanding of datacenter networking architectures, Ethernet switches, optical transceivers, or high-speed interconnects.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth technology or hyperscale environment.
  • Previous experience at hyperscalers, networking OEMs, AI infrastructure companies, or semiconductor supply organizations.
  • Demonstrated success in ambiguous, high-velocity environments with aggressive timelines.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with commodity management, roadmap planning, vendor development, and approved vendor list processes.
  • Passion for SpaceX's mission and interest in contributing to rapid AI infrastructure builds.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with responsible engineers, silicon architects, and network teams to define commodity strategy, multi-year technology roadmaps, and approved vendor lists for switches and optics.
  • Own global sourcing end to end, including supplier qualification, dual- or multi-sourcing strategies, and supplier performance management.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements covering pricing and volume, co-development commitments, early access to pre-production silicon and optics, and priority allocation during industry shortages.
  • Use predictive analytics, AI-driven demand forecasting, and real-time supply-chain visibility tools to anticipate and mitigate geopolitical, capacity, yield, and technology-transition risks.
  • Drive cost leadership through value engineering, should-cost modeling, and long-term pricing agreements while maintaining high quality and reliability standards.
  • Lead supplier innovation programs involving custom form factors, power-efficient designs, higher-density optics, and open standards.
  • Build strategic supplier relationships through executive business reviews and joint development projects.
  • Establish KPIs for cost, quality, speed, and resilience, and review them weekly with leadership.
  • Mentor cross-functional teams on supply-chain best practices and foster ownership, speed, and technical depth.
