Global Supply Manager, ODM/CM Management (Starlink)
About The Position
SpaceX is seeking a Global Supply Manager to own end-to-end strategic management of Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) and Contract Manufacturers (CMs) for compute and network hardware builds at L10 (subassembly/module) and L11 (system-level/FATP) stages. The role partners with engineers and hardware teams to define manufacturing strategies, develop and optimize Statements of Work (SOWs), challenge unnecessary specifications and costs, and drive manufacturing execution at high velocity and scale. The manager will build strategic ODM/CM partnerships that deliver on-time delivery, quality, cost efficiency, and flexibility in support of SpaceX’s cluster deployment cadence. The position requires expertise in server and network manufacturing processes and the ability to operate in a high-ambiguity, high-velocity environment. The role is based onsite in Austin, Texas, and requires domestic and international travel as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of experience in business, manufacturing, supply chain, or engineering; alternatively, 10+ years of experience in one or more of these fields.
- 5+ years of experience in global supply chain, ODM/CM management, or electronics manufacturing, focused on compute servers and networking hardware.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed to support ODM/CM factory sites, audits, and critical projects.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with rapidly evolving priorities and high execution speed.
- Must be able to work onsite in Austin, Texas.
- Must meet the stated U.S. government export-regulation eligibility requirements: qualifying U.S. citizenship or immigration status, or eligibility to obtain required authorizations.
Nice To Haves
- Deep technical understanding of L10/L11 manufacturing flows, FATP, value engineering, design-for-manufacturability, and the global ODM/CM ecosystem for hyperscale datacenter hardware.
- Proven track record managing ODMs and CMs at L10 and L11 levels in hyperscale or high-growth technology environments.
- Hands-on familiarity with server/network build processes and FATP concepts.
- Experience at hyperscalers, leading ODMs, Tier-1 CMs, or AI infrastructure companies with aggressive scaling demands.
- Demonstrated success negotiating complex SOWs, challenging specifications and costs, and delivering results in ambiguous, high-velocity environments with extreme timelines and massive scale.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with commodity management, roadmap planning, and approved vendor list processes in a manufacturing context.
- Passion for SpaceX’s mission and excitement about enabling rapid AI infrastructure builds.
Responsibilities
- Partner with engineers, hardware teams, and manufacturing experts to define build strategies, L10/L11 manufacturing roadmaps, and SOWs for ODMs and CMs across compute servers, network hardware, and related assemblies.
- Own global ODM/CM management, including selection, qualification, onboarding, performance governance, and relationship management, to support on-time delivery and lead-time compression.
- Define and negotiate SOWs and commercial agreements that challenge unnecessary specifications, drive value engineering, secure competitive pricing and capacity commitments, and provide flexibility while maintaining quality and reliability.
- Drive cost leadership through should-cost modeling, design-for-manufacturability reviews, specification optimization, and long-term pricing agreements.
- Standardize and automate NPI-to-mass-production processes.
- Implement inventory and WIP optimization models, including consignment and just-in-time approaches tailored to SpaceX’s build velocity.
- Establish KPIs for cost, quality, speed, yield, and resilience, and review them weekly with leadership.
