Global Supply Manager, ODM/CM Management (Starlink)

SpaceX•Palo Alto, CA
•$145,000 - $215,000•Onsite

About The Position

SpaceX is seeking a Global Supply Manager to lead end-to-end strategic management of Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) and Contract Manufacturers (CMs) for compute and network hardware builds at L10 (subassembly/module) and L11 (system-level/FATP) stages. The role partners with engineers, hardware teams, and manufacturing experts to establish build strategies, develop and optimize Statements of Work (SOWs), challenge unnecessary specifications and costs, and drive manufacturing execution at high velocity and scale. The manager will develop strategic ODM/CM partnerships that support on-time delivery, quality, cost efficiency, and flexibility for SpaceX’s cluster deployments. The position is based onsite in Austin, Texas, and requires domestic and international travel as needed to support factory sites, audits, and critical projects. The role requires thriving amid rapidly changing priorities and fast-paced execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 6 years of experience in business, manufacturing, supply chain, or engineering; alternatively, at least 10 years of experience in one or more of those areas.
  • At least 5 years of experience in global supply chain, ODM/CM management, or electronics manufacturing, focused on compute servers and networking hardware.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with rapidly evolving priorities and high execution speed.
  • Must meet U.S. Government export-regulation eligibility requirements: be a U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee, or be eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

Nice To Haves

  • Deep technical understanding of L10/L11 manufacturing flows, FATP, value engineering, design-for-manufacturability, and the global ODM/CM ecosystem for hyperscale datacenter hardware.
  • Proven track record managing ODMs and CMs at L10 and L11 levels in hyperscale or high-growth technology environments.
  • Hands-on familiarity with server and network build processes and FATP concepts.
  • Experience at hyperscalers, leading ODMs, Tier-1 CMs, or AI infrastructure companies with aggressive scaling demands.
  • Demonstrated success negotiating complex SOWs, challenging specifications and costs, and delivering results in ambiguous, high-velocity environments at massive scale.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with commodity management, roadmap planning, and approved vendor list processes in a manufacturing context.
  • Passion for SpaceX’s mission and excitement about enabling fast AI infrastructure builds.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with engineers, hardware teams, and manufacturing experts to define build strategies, L10/L11 manufacturing roadmaps, and SOWs for ODMs and CMs across compute servers, network hardware, and related assemblies.
  • Own global ODM/CM management, including selection, qualification, onboarding, performance governance, and relationship management.
  • Improve on-time delivery and continuously compress lead times while supporting SpaceX’s cluster build cadence.
  • Define and negotiate SOWs and commercial agreements, challenge unnecessary specifications, drive value engineering, and secure pricing, capacity commitments, and flexibility while maintaining quality and reliability.
  • Drive cost leadership through should-cost modeling, design-for-manufacturability reviews, specification optimization, and long-term pricing agreements.
  • Standardize and automate NPI-to-mass-production processes.
  • Implement inventory and work-in-progress optimization models, including consignment and just-in-time approaches tailored to SpaceX’s build velocity.
  • Establish KPIs for cost, quality, speed, yield, and resilience, and review them weekly with leadership.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as needed to support ODM/CM factory sites, audits, and critical projects.

Benefits

  • Potential eligibility for long-term incentives in the form of company stock or long-term cash awards.
  • Potential discretionary bonuses.
  • Ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
  • Comprehensive medical coverage.
  • Vision coverage.
  • Dental coverage.
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Short- and long-term disability insurance.
  • Life insurance.
  • Paid parental leave.
  • Various other discounts and perks.
  • Accrual of 3 weeks of paid vacation.
  • 10 or more paid holidays per year.
