About The Position

WhiteWater's People and Culture department is looking for a candidate to join us in the following role: Position: Global People & Talent Coordinator. Status: Regular Full Time, 40 hours a week. Department: People & Culture. Location: Richmond, BC, Canada. Reports to: Senior Manager, Global P&C. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Global P&C, the Global People & Talent Coordinator role plays a broad role overseeing P&C administration, recruitment, benefits, training, and other P&C initiatives. The role is integral in ensuring the delivery of day-to-day P&C services supporting our employees and stakeholders for our Richmond, BC and global locations. In addition, this role helps the organization understand its people through critical metrics/reporting. The ideal candidate is customer-centric, energetic, and a self-starter who can work independently and in collaboration with other teams. This position has no direct reports.

Requirements

  • Completion of post-secondary education in Human Resources or equivalent education and experience.
  • 2-3 years of progressively experience in a Human Resources.
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems, preferably BambooHR, PerformYard and other databases and demonstrable experience with P&C metrics extracted from those systems
  • Knowledge of Employment Standards (ESA), Human Rights Code, WorkSafe BC regulations, and Human Resources best practices is highly preferred.
  • Advanced computer skills; proficient MS Office and Excel; knowledge of SharePoint is an asset
  • In depth understanding of P&C best practices and being able to adapt them to different situations.
  • Ability to use judgment, apply discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Self-driven to work independently with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada

Nice To Haves

  • CPHR or working towards a designation is an asset.
  • Strongly preferred: global mobility experience with multiple country employment laws, cultural norms, benefits and immigration laws. Specific experience with the following countries is preferred: Canada, United States, Germany, United Arab Emirates, and China.
  • Occupational Health and Safety Regulation knowledge an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Actively partner with P&C team for full-cycle recruitment support such as job posting, phone screening, interview scheduling, reference, and background checks, employment contracts preparation and new hire paperwork.
  • Conduct orientation and initiate the onboarding process; collaborate with P&C team and business leaders to prepare or revise the onboarding processes for multiple global locations.
  • Initiate offboarding process, and assist in the termination process, such as exit interview surveys and interview coordination.
  • Maintain employee files, hiring metrics, P&C forms/templates/folder maintenance, SharePoint optimization, creating or revising existing employee handbook.
  • Assist with payroll and benefits administration (Canada and International) – assist employees on submission of disability claims, enrol new employees, manage changes and terminations and respond to employees’ queries.
  • Establish meaningful and trusted relationships with Departments and employees, ensuring expectations and requirements are voiced and considered in the development of Company’s programs and processes.
  • Collaborate with Payroll to set-up new hires, ensure completion of paperwork, manage benefits reports, invoices, sales agreements, and tax compliance.
  • Support the internal strategy through involvement with training, program and policy development initiatives.
  • Regularly update the HRIS (BambooHR & PerformYard) with employee information and documentation.
  • Respond to information requests and queries from employees, other departments and external agencies.
  • Collaborate with P&C team on Communication and employer branding initiatives.
  • Support engagement activities including attending and organizing events as well as celebrating successes and recognition.
  • Execute responsibilities accordingly to lawful and ethical standards.
  • Conduct surveys, collect employee feedback and generate ad hoc P&C reports.
  • Support cross-functional teams and committees, such as Health and Safety Committee and Social Committee, as required.
