About The Position

The Global Economic Incentives & Site Selection Manager serves as Vertiv’s global center of expertise for strategic site selection and economic development incentives. The role partners with Real Estate, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Tax, HR, Engineering, Legal, Government Affairs, and business leadership to evaluate locations for new manufacturing, engineering, distribution, office, and other strategic facilities, and to identify, negotiate, secure, and administer incentives associated with capital investment and job creation. The manager independently leads complex site-selection and incentive initiatives from initial business requirements through market evaluation, financial analysis, negotiations, approvals, commitments, and transition to implementation. The role provides objective, data-driven recommendations that weigh real estate economics, labor availability, infrastructure, utilities, logistics, customer proximity, incentives, taxes, operating costs, regulatory considerations, execution risk, and long-term strategic value. Success is measured by the quality of location decisions and the long-term value delivered to Vertiv, not solely by the amount of incentives secured. The role establishes global site-selection and incentive methodologies, coordinates cross-functional project teams and external advisors, manages governmental and economic-development relationships, and supports governance and compliance for incentives throughout their realization.

  • Translate business and operational requirements into objective site-selection criteria, structured market-screening methods, weighted decision matrices, and scoring models.
  • Evaluate countries, states, provinces, regions, metropolitan areas, and individual sites, considering labor, real estate, utilities, transportation, supply chains, taxes, regulation, incentives, development conditions, environmental and entitlement factors, community support, resilience, and risk.
  • Collect and validate market data, develop comparative location analyses, identify material sensitivities and risks, and provide executive recommendations.
  • Lead Vertiv’s global strategy for identifying and pursuing economic development incentives tied to capital investment, job creation, payroll, R&D, training, infrastructure, energy, sustainability, and other qualifying activities.
  • Identify incentive programs at national, federal, state or provincial, regional, and local levels, and assess their value against commitments, compliance requirements, restrictions, and administrative burden.

  • Maintain documentation of negotiated commitments and approvals.
  • Develop financial comparisons of alternative locations, quantifying real estate, construction and capital, labor, taxes, utilities, logistics, incentives, operating costs, transition costs, and other material expenses.
  • Evaluate incentive value on gross and risk-adjusted bases, model timing and potential clawback exposure, and perform NPV, cash-flow, payback, and sensitivity analyses.

  • Coordinate monitoring of capital investment, employment, payroll, training, and other performance requirements; identify compliance risks, support remediation or renegotiation when conditions change, and track realization against negotiated value.
  • Maintain documentation supporting audits, certifications, and governmental reporting.

  • Develop productive relationships with economic development organizations and governmental authorities, represent Vertiv professionally, protect confidentiality, and support executive engagement when appropriate.
  • Coordinate site-selection and incentive workstreams across internal functions, establishing criteria, schedules, decision points, responsibilities, and governance.
  • Ensure due diligence is completed before site commitments, escalate issues affecting economics, timing, operational viability, or incentive realization, and support transition into transaction, design, construction, and operational implementation.
  • Develop and maintain global methodologies, templates, evaluation tools, governance processes, reporting, and a pipeline of active and prospective initiatives.
  • Capture lessons learned, monitor incentive program and market trends, support regional Real Estate teams, and build internal capability for rigorous, consistent location decisions.
