About The Position
The Gleaner Tech Van Intern joins AGCO's Custom Harvest Tech Van team for hands-on summer field support of advanced harvesting operations across the Great Plains. The intern travels alongside a mobile field service team and works with AGCO specialists who support custom harvest crews across multiple states. The role combines agriculture, mechanical troubleshooting, technology and diagnostics, travel, and field support. The Tech Van is AGCO's mobile command center for harvest support. Equipped with specialized tools and critical service parts, the team travels north with the harvest season to provide rapid customer support. Work varies from troubleshooting electronics to helping replace major machine components in the field.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Agricultural Sciences, Engineering, Diesel Technology, Mechanics, or a related field.
- Passion for agriculture and machinery.
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Comfort communicating with customers and team members.
- Self-motivated and willing to travel full-time during the harvest season.
- Ability to work in outdoor agricultural environments, stand or walk for extended periods, and safely perform duties requiring bending, reaching, and manual handling of materials.
Responsibilities
- Identify equipment and performance issues.
- Use electronic diagnostic tools to identify fault codes.
- Help perform repairs and maintenance on harvesting equipment.
- Make machine adjustments to optimize performance in different crops and field conditions.
- Support customers and harvest crews with technical solutions.
