About The Position

The Gifts Sales Associate performs selling and customer service activities, including promptly and warmly greeting customers, handling merchandise with care, and providing customers with information, assistance, and direction. The role supports a pleasant and productive shopping experience by demonstrating products, maintaining product knowledge, replenishing and restocking merchandise, and keeping the work area clean and supplied. The associate helps customers make buying decisions by understanding their needs, recommending products, and promoting programs such as CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up. The role operates under general supervision using established procedures, with occasional independent judgment to complete assignments and make recommendations about work procedures, policies, and practices. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

High school education or equivalent experience.
Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change for customers.
Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner with customers and associates.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
Ability to operate a computerized Point of Sale register system.
Ability to stand and/or walk throughout the shift.
Ability to occasionally climb or descend ladders, stairs, or ramps; repeat motions involving wrists, hands, or fingers; operate machinery, power tools, motor vehicles, or heavy equipment; work in tight or confined spaces; and work in noisy environments.
Ability to move objects up to 20 pounds constantly and occasionally move or lift objects up to 100 pounds or more, using a team lift as needed.

Responsibilities

Greet and acknowledge customers promptly and in a friendly manner; provide information, assistance, and direction.
Support a high standard of customer service and a pleasant, productive shopping experience.
Demonstrate products to customers and maintain product expertise through ongoing training.
Replenish and restock merchandise according to merchandising guidelines.
Stay informed about advertised sales and maintain pricing and signage.
Assist with seasonal floor merchandise moves.
Keep the work area clean, neat, and well stocked with supplies.
Follow company policies and procedures.
Identify and evaluate customer needs, recommend products, and promote programs including CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Operate the computerized Point of Sale register system and handle calculations such as discounts and customer change.
