About The Position

The Gifts Associate performs sales and customer-service activities, including greeting and acknowledging customers promptly and in a friendly manner, handling merchandise with care, and providing customers with information, assistance, and direction. The role supports a pleasant and productive shopping experience and helps customers make buying decisions by identifying and evaluating their needs and making product recommendations. The associate promotes programs such as CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up. The associate demonstrates products, replenishes and restocks merchandise, maintains knowledge of products and advertised sales, and maintains pricing and signage. The role also assists with seasonal floor merchandise moves, keeps the work area clean and stocked, and follows company policies and procedures. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

High school education or equivalent experience.
Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change for customers.
Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner with customers and associates.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
Ability to operate a computerized point-of-sale register system.
Ability to stand and/or walk throughout the shift.
Ability to move objects up to 20 pounds constantly and, occasionally, to move and lift objects up to 100 pounds or more with a team lift as needed.
Ability to occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, ramps, or similar structures.
Ability to occasionally work in tight or confined spaces and noisy environments.

Responsibilities

Greet and acknowledge customers promptly and in a friendly manner, and provide information, assistance, and direction.
Handle merchandise with care and demonstrate products to customers.
Support a pleasant and productive shopping experience and provide a positive experience for every customer.
Identify and evaluate customers’ needs, recommend products, and promote programs including CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
Replenish and restock merchandise according to merchandising guidelines and as required.
Maintain product knowledge through ongoing training and remain knowledgeable about advertised sales.
Maintain pricing and signage.
Assist with seasonal floor merchandise moves.
Keep the work area clean, neat, and stocked with supplies.
Follow company policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
