About The Position

McMenamins Anderson School Market is hiring part-time, variable-hour Gift Shop Staff. The primary duty is to provide excellent customer service and maintain a pleasant atmosphere in the gift shop. Staff are trained on McMenamins products, including wine, liquor, beer, and coffee, so they can make recommendations to customers. Because the shop is near the property’s front desk, staff should stay informed about property events and be prepared to answer customer questions. The role requires mental agility, effective multitasking in an occasionally fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The wage rate is $19–$22 per hour.

Requirements

• Obtain and maintain a current food handlers card.
• Obtain and maintain a current OLCC card.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Have previous retail experience.
• Have open availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Enjoy working in a busy, customer-service-oriented environment.
• Be able to multitask and work effectively in an occasionally fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
• Be able to work independently and as a member of a team.

Nice To Haves

• Previous barista experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist with questions.
• Suggest merchandise and make product recommendations.
• Make coffee and espresso drinks.
• Operate the cash register and handle cash accurately.
• Clean and stock the shop.
• Process freight.
• Perform assigned opening and closing duties.
• Work outside in merchandise tents when asked.
• Complete physical inventory when asked.
• Set up merchandise presentations in the store when asked.
• Stay informed about events on the property and answer customer questions as needed.
