About The Position

Reporting to Senior Geologist, the Geologist Laborer (Temporary) will have to spend some weeks on the Mason Project in Yerington, Nevada, 1.5 hours driving from Reno airport. This role will be located at the Copper World Project, approximately 45 minutes southwest of Tucson near Sahuarita, Arizona.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and meet all other requirements of the job
  • Positive work ethic
  • Maintain a drug and alcohol-free workplace
  • Have reliable transportation to the field location (transportation to the field will be in company vehicles)
  • Possess a valid Driver’s License. (This position requires you to drive a company vehicle, you must be able to be insured by company insurance).

  • Current MSHA.
  • Experience at mine or construction sites.

Responsibilities

  • Work safely and maintain an orderly organized workplace.
  • Follow company policies and procedures.
  • Moving and unstacking pallets of drill core for various geophysical and geotechnical analyses. Re-stacking, re-strapping, and replacing pallets in correct location.
  • Sampling from drill core in storage yard following best practices for safety and quality.
  • Collecting rock samples from road cuts.
  • Splitting drill core for analysis using automated core saw (training will be provided).
  • Will be required to operate small equipment such as a skid steer or forklift.
  • Maintain daily progress reports.
  • Will be required to assist geology and survey department with field work, housekeeping, and general labor tasks as required.
  • May assist other departments at Helvetia or Mason site with labor tasks as needed.
  • Keep department trucks clean and maintained.
  • This position will involve repeated lifting of up to 50lbs.
