The GIS Technologist is the intermediate level of the hierarchy. Employees solve more complex GIS problems with general supervision and apply fundamental concepts and procedures to fairly complex, varied work. They may work independently or on a team with some supervision, while developing advanced skills and understanding of utility networks, configurations, and the designs and functions of equipment and assets. The role supports the operation and maintenance of the company GIS application through maintaining, reporting, and posting work or gathering data for others to input.
