About The Position

Generator Specialists inspect, test and repair generator stators, rotors and exciters and clients’ locations. This job description is a summary of the primary job scope and should not be assumed as an all-inclusive description.

Requirements

  • Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean record
  • 2-5 years of generator repair experience
  • Solid understanding of Ac and Dc electrical theory
  • 2 years’ experience in supervising crews

Responsibilities

  • Perform LOTO inspection prior to performing any work
  • Visually inspect and test the generator components
  • Perform repairs to generator components
  • Supervise crews during inspecting, testing and repair operations
  • Communicate with site customer contacts as an on site technical expert
  • Ensure safe completion of all defined work scope tasks
  • Maintain all assigned test equipment and tooling
  • Book all travel and lodging as per company policy
  • Set up and perform all applicable stator testing to include but not limited to El Cid, Doble, WTD, Hipot, PI, Step test, RTD testing, Bump test.
  • Set up and perform all applicable rotor testing to include but not limited to Megger, PI, RSO, impedance, diode testing
  • Perform stator and rotor rewinds, rewedges, end winding stability installs, cleaning, blocking repairs, core torque etc.
