About The Position

The General Worker trains and works across departments according to production needs, including as a Rewind Assistant, Blown Film Assistant, Coater Assistant, or Material Handler. Upon hire, employees may bid for open Assistant roles and may later fill machine operator roles as openings become available. The role follows a rotating schedule of four days on and four days off, with a day-to-night rotation every two weeks (5-5). Compensation starts at $24.30 per hour, plus premiums, including double time on Sundays and holidays.

Requirements

• Able to perform all duties described in the Rewind Assistant, Blown Film Assistant, Coater Assistant, and Material Handler job descriptions.
• High school education or equivalent, minimum.
• Continue to upgrade skills by attending internal training and meetings.

Nice To Haves

• Previous machine operation experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Follow all plant- and department-specific safety and security rules, procedures, and programs.
• Wear required personal protective equipment for plant, department, and task-specific requirements.
• Attend required OSHA and facility safety training.
• Report injuries, near misses, and property damage incidents to the Shift Supervisor before the end of the shift on the day of the incident.
• Help keep the facility clean by sweeping, mopping white runs, washing stack racks, carts, and walls, and operating the floor scrubber.
• Report all safety issues to the Shift Supervisor.
• Train and work as a Rewind Assistant, Blown Film Assistant, Coater Assistant, or Material Handler as needed for production requirements.
• Actively participate in and support continuous improvement efforts, such as WCOM.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
