About The Position
Family Health Centers of San Diego (FHCSD) is seeking a General Volunteer to provide support under general supervision. This role may involve health education, patient engagement, clerical support, event support, or other assigned duties. FHCSD is a non-profit organization with a mission to provide caring, affordable, high-quality medical care to all, with a special commitment to the uninsured, low-income, and medically underserved. The organization is a national leader among community health centers and has a strong commitment to community medicine and culturally competent care.
Requirements
- Interest in volunteering
- Ability to work effectively with patients from diverse social, cultural and economic groups.
- Ability to work well in both a team-based environment and independently.
- Demonstrated ability to be culturally sensitive and respect diversity.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain good working relationships with employees, coworkers, and departments.
- Intermediate interpersonal and customer service skills.

- Licensure may be required for specific volunteer assignments
Responsibilities
- Performs volunteer duties as assigned, within scope of the assignment, under direct supervision.
