About The Position

We are seeking a General Surgeon for a locum tenens position in Clinton, NC. This inpatient role requires coverage for supplemental needs during specific dates in July. The position is call-only, requiring 24-hour beeper call with a 20-minute response time. Admissions are required, and the surgeon will be responsible for a range of bread and butter general surgery procedures, including hernia repair, cholecystectomy, breast surgery, "lumps & bumps," abscess drainage, endoscopy (EGD & colonoscopy), appendectomy, and small bowel & colon surgery. The role also includes resident and teaching supervision. The facility utilizes Meditech 6.1 EMR. Temporary privileges are available. The hospital provides onsite, hospital-owned individual apartments with cable and Wi-Fi. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered.

Requirements

Active NC License
Board Certified (General Surgery)
NC DEA
No recent malpractice cases
Must be NC Medicare & Medicaid credentialed
Must be enrolled with PECOS

Responsibilities

Provide 24-hour beeper call coverage with a 20-minute response time.
Perform bread and butter general surgery procedures including hernia repair, cholecystectomy, breast surgery, "lumps & bumps," abscess drainage, endoscopy (EGD & colonoscopy), appendectomy, and small bowel & colon surgery.
Admit patients as required.
Supervise residents and teaching staff.
Utilize Meditech 6.1 EMR system.
