About The Position

Winchester Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate Board Certified or Board Eligible General Surgeon to provide per-diem surgical care and call coverage in a collaborative community hospital setting supported by the Beth Israel Lahey Health network. The role provides elective and emergency general surgery, inpatient and emergency department consultations, and comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative care. The position is on-site and includes on-call coverage, with scheduling as needed and availability for daytime coverage, weeknights, weekends, and holidays based on departmental need.

Requirements

Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
Successful completion of an accredited General Surgery Residency program.
Current, unrestricted medical license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery (ABMS or AOA).
Active Federal DEA and MCSR registrations.

Nice To Haves

Two or more years of clinical post-residency experience in General Surgery.
Broad surgical skillset, including laparoscopic, minimally invasive, and acute care surgery.
Experience with Epic EHR.

Responsibilities

Perform elective and emergency general surgery procedures.
Provide surgical call coverage, rounding, and inpatient consultations.
Evaluate and manage acute surgical cases presenting to the emergency department.
Deliver comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative surgical care.
Collaborate with surgical teams, anesthesiologists, advanced practice providers, and nursing staff.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Epic EHR system.
