About The Position

Greg’s Japanese Automotive is seeking a General Service Technician to perform non-technical automotive services, including oil changes, tire and wheel services, alignments, and flushes. The technician works alongside ASE Certified Automotive Technicians and receives training to support career advancement and the opportunity to pursue ASE certification.

The role also includes transporting customers and picking up parts and supplies in a company vehicle, conducting state safety and emissions inspections, documenting vehicle condition, and maintaining a clean and safe shop. Compensation varies from $20 to $23 per hour depending on experience.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to work a minimum of five days, including Saturdays.
• Previous automotive experience is preferred, but energetic and hard-working individuals with a passion for cars will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport customers to and from their residence or place of business using a company vehicle.
• Pick up parts, supplies, tires, and other items from vendors or the corporate office using a company vehicle.
• Operate the company vehicle safely and courteously while obeying traffic laws.
• Conduct state safety and emissions inspections ethically and in accordance with company and state guidelines.
• Perform tire mounting and dismounting, wheel balancing, and tire rotations.
• Perform oil changes and other basic services as directed by the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.
• Observe vehicle condition during basic services and report obvious needed repairs or safety concerns to the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.
• Use the company’s Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order to document vehicle condition.
• Maintain cleanliness of the shop, including the service area, tire racks, showroom, and exterior of the building.
• Follow safety procedures and report concerns to the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.
