About The Position

The General Service Technician provides safe, quality automotive maintenance, diagnosis, and repair to customer vehicles. The role performs routine maintenance and tire services, inspects vehicles, records and reports findings, and uses shop equipment safely. The technician is also responsible for maintaining a clean, stocked work area, protecting company assets, following safety practices, and attending work in accordance with the assigned schedule.

Requirements

1–2 years of minimum job-specific experience.
Valid driver’s license.
Tire Industry Association ATS certification, ASE certifications, or vendor-provided training.

Responsibilities

Pull customer vehicles in and out of the shop.
Complete oil and lubrication services, reset maintenance lamps, gather specifications, and obtain appropriate repair information as needed.
Perform appropriate vehicle inspections and accurately measure, record, and report findings on the repair order; obtain specifications and other information to support findings.
Perform tire replacement and repair services.
Work with and reset tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS).
Replace wipers and light bulbs.
Use automotive lift equipment safely.
Clean, stock, and maintain the work area.
Follow checklists to examine belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other potentially troublesome areas.
Perform wheel alignment services.
Follow Purcell’s safety culture and perform all work safely.
Protect company assets.
Maintain regular attendance in accordance with the assigned schedule.
Perform the physical requirements listed in the job description.
Perform other essential and non-essential duties as assigned by management.
