About The Position
Polycor New England is looking for hard-working, positive team players to fill General Quarry Worker positions at our Jay, ME location. This is a year-round outdoor job involving the extraction of granite from our quarry.
Requirements
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Must be willing to work overtime and some weekends.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Being comfortable with heights.
Nice To Haves
- No experience necessary.
Responsibilities
- Drill holes in a granite block with a pneumatic hammer.
- Insert wedges into the holes and use a sledgehammer to break the blocks to the required dimensions.
- Operate drilling equipment.
- Operate saws to cut large blocks of granite from the open pit quarry.
- Follow policies and procedures to assure quality work.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Work safely, according to guidelines and training, to prevent possible injuries to self and others.
- Perform additional duties as required.
