About The Position

The Quarry Supervisor will promote safety, organize and plan production, manage employee relations, monitor processes and materials, maintain compliance, and inspect equipment. This role involves planning daily operation scheduling for optimal utilization of plant and equipment, personnel, and inventory. It also includes site planning and pit development, providing leadership and training to employees, and working with HR on recruitment, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions. The supervisor will analyze production and quality control to ensure customer satisfaction, monitor operational reports for best practices in extraction and processing, and implement preventive maintenance programs. A strong safety culture is essential to ensure compliance with safety, operations, and environmental policies.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in supervising production employees.
  • Must be able to provide strong leadership and mentorship to employees.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of rock and sand mining, ready-mix concrete, and/or asphalt operations and equipment, MSHA regulations, engineering principles and procedures, and quality control systems and processes.
  • Must be an excellent motivator and team builder.
  • Must be able to form strong social relationships and effectively communicate with both internal and external audiences.
  • Must possess knowledge and experience leading financial performance to established targets, meeting or exceeding performance goals.
  • Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably experience at either an aggregate, sand/gravel or asphalt plant.

Responsibilities

  • Promote Safety: Prioritize safety for self and others to ensure zero accidents and compliance with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Organize and Plan Production: Plan daily operation scheduling for optimal utilization of plant and equipment, personnel, and inventory. Responsible for site planning and pit development.
  • Manage Employee Relations: Provide leadership, training, team building, and supervision to employees. Work with HR on recruitment, merit increases, disciplinary actions, and performance evaluations.
  • Monitor Processes and Materials: Analyze production and quality control to ensure product quality. Monitor operational reports for best practices in extraction, processing, stockpiling, and re-handling. Implement and monitor a preventive maintenance program.
  • Maintain Compliance: Build a strong safety culture to ensure compliance with Company safety, operations, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Inspect Equipment and Perform Repairs: Assist and organize daily inspection and maintenance of the plant to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
