Tyson Foods is hiring general production workers at its Madison pork processing facility and is accepting rehires. Workers may be assigned to any department and perform basic to intermediate knife work, including trimming meat and removing bones. Department assignments depend on availability and may involve Harvest, Cut/Converting, or Loadout work. Harvest work includes processing offal products in a wet, humid, hot environment, with seasonal temperatures that may exceed 90°F. Cut/Converting involves further processing fresh pork products in a cold, damp environment ranging from 35°F to 45°F. Loadout work at the Madison Distribution Center includes reading order sheets, retrieving boxes from a two-story rack system, placing boxes on a conveyor, stacking boxes on pallets, or arranging them directly in trucks while maintaining proper box orientation and label visibility. Loadout is dry and cold, with temperatures from 25°F to 45°F. All assignments involve physical activity such as standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching continuously. Lifting requirements vary by area: many areas involve lifting up to 65 pounds, while Loadout lifting ranges from 9 to 100 pounds. Candidates must be able to perform the physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation. All listed environments require availability to work six days per week, Monday through Saturday. Candidates who previously worked for Tyson must meet a minimum 180-day rehire waiting period and are subject to a three-time hire limit. Job offers are conditional on proof of U.S. work authorization and passing a urinalysis screening as part of a post-offer health assessment. Certain roles may also require a background check. Relocation assistance is not available. Tyson offers paid time off, a 401(k) plan, and health, life, dental, vision, and prescription drug benefits.
