About The Position

The General Production Manager is responsible for all production operations at the facility, including managing production supervisors’ departments, production schedules, product rotation, CCP verification schedules, and oversight of the safety committee. The role reviews team members in these areas and develops and improves performance in deficient areas. Some travel is required as needed. The successful candidate must be able to perform the job’s physical requirements, with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing supervisory role or at least 2 years of Tyson supervisory experience.
• Basic computer skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with all levels of management.
• Ability to access all areas of the production floor to conduct audits and inspections using fixed ladders, stairs, steps, and similar access points.
• Ability to tolerate environmental conditions in the area of responsibility, where temperatures in most areas range from 28° to 45° Fahrenheit.
• Team leadership, problem-solving, and motivation to take on special projects.
• Willingness and ability to perform the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Some travel as needed.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with processing floor operations.
• HACCP certification and a basic understanding of HACCP principles, including the ability to perform CCP monitoring verification.
• Knowledge of fresh meat processing.
