The General Manager is responsible for everything that happens during their shift, including cost, inventory, and cash controls, customer relations, staffing, paperwork, food management, scheduling, store cleanliness, marketing, and profitability. The manager must set an example by following all policies and procedures and expecting the same from the crew. The role may be offered without prior pizza experience, although such experience is preferred. Candidates must complete evaluations through Manager in Training before managing a store location. Orientation and training are provided on the job. The position involves carrying out general store-team duties as needed, including operating equipment; stocking ingredients; preparing products; receiving and processing telephone orders; taking inventory and completing paperwork; and cleaning equipment and the facility. General Managers need sound judgment, basic math, multitasking, communication, customer-service, and leadership abilities, and must be willing to step in and perform any job that needs to be done. The work takes place in a pizza-store environment and may involve exposure to varying weather, temperature changes, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped spaces, hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. Physical activities include standing, walking, sitting for paperwork, lifting and carrying supplies, pushing trays, occasional climbing, bending, crouching, reaching, and frequent hand use. The General Manager position starts at minimum wage; raises follow training evaluations completed by the team member and manager. The posting lists Southern Oregon wage rates of $15.55–$19.61 and says monthly bonuses may be offered when criteria and responsibilities are met, but are not guaranteed.
