About The Position

The General Manager operates store equipment; stocks ingredients; prepares products; receives and processes telephone orders; takes inventory and completes paperwork; and cleans equipment and the facility. The role also delivers products to customers by car and to their doors, and distributes flyers, doorhangers, or other marketing materials. Orientation and on-the-job training are provided.

The position involves customer and coworker communication in person and by telephone, order entry using a keyboard or touchscreen, handling monetary transactions, and directing activities. Work includes food preparation and other store tasks, paperwork, and deliveries within a designated delivery area. The job requires working in varied store temperatures and conditions, including a walk-in cooler, hot work areas, and outdoor conditions. Physical activities include prolonged standing, walking, lifting and carrying supplies and orders, pushing or pulling trays, reaching, bending, occasional crouching, and navigating stairs or ladders. Delivery duties involve driving and carrying products to customer locations, sometimes up five or more flights of stairs.

Requirements

• Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
• Ability to communicate verbally with customers and coworkers to process orders by telephone and in person.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly, with a calculator if needed, and make correct monetary change.
• Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
• Motor coordination and eye-hand coordination to make precise movements rapidly and accurately; ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touchscreen.
• Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet quality-control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
• Valid driver license with a safe driving record that meets company standards.
• Access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
• Navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
• Ability to navigate varied delivery terrain, including multistory buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites while carrying products.
• Ability to perform the physical demands described, including lifting cases weighing up to 60 pounds, standing, walking, reaching, bending, and occasional stair or ladder navigation.
• Ability to differentiate hot and cold surfaces; near-, mid-, and far-range vision, depth perception, and night vision for driving; and ability to talk and hear on the telephone.

Responsibilities

• Unload deliveries using a hand truck and stock ingredients and supplies on shelves.
