About The Position

The Delivery Driver delivers products by car to customers’ doors and distributes flyers, doorhangers, or other marketing materials. The role also includes in-store duties such as operating equipment; stocking ingredients; preparing products; receiving and processing telephone orders; taking inventory and completing paperwork; and cleaning equipment and the facility. Orientation and training are provided on the job.

The position involves standing and walking for much of the workday, handling food and supplies, and working in varied store and delivery conditions. Delivery duties may involve carrying products while walking or climbing stairs, navigating adverse terrain and multi-story buildings, and driving within a designated delivery area. The role requires a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record that meets company standards and access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.

Requirements

• Ability to navigate adverse terrain and delivery sites, including multi-story buildings and private homes.
• Ability to understand and give correct written instructions and communicate verbally with customers and coworkers in person and over the phone.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly and make correct monetary change.
• Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
• Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
• Eye-hand coordination and motor coordination to make precise movements rapidly and accurately.
• Ability to work alone and with others, perform repetitive tasks, work under stress, meet quality-control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
• Ability to perform the physical duties described, including standing, walking, lifting cases up to 60 pounds, carrying products, pushing or pulling tray dollies, reaching, bending, crouching, and occasionally climbing stairs or ladders.
• Ability to carry delivery products while walking and climbing; delivery may require navigating five or more flights of stairs.
• Ability to use near, mid-range, far, and night vision as required for in-store work and driving, hear and speak on the telephone, perceive depth, and differentiate hot from cold surfaces.

Responsibilities

• Deliver products by car to customers’ doors within a designated delivery area, potentially making several deliveries per shift.
• Deliver flyers, doorhangers, and other marketing materials.
• Operate equipment and stock ingredients from delivery-area storage, work areas, and the walk-in cooler.
• Prepare products.
• Receive and process telephone orders, including entering orders by computer keyboard or touch screen.
• Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
• Clean equipment and the facility approximately daily.
• Unload ingredient and supply deliveries using a hand truck and stock cases on shelves.
• Navigate delivery sites, including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other locations, while carrying products.
