About The Position

U-Haul is seeking a responsible, motivated, and thoughtful General Manager to manage a moving and storage center in Huntsville, Alabama. The role is varied and fast-paced, with responsibility for keeping the center profitable and efficient through staffing, inventory oversight, equipment management, and addressing operational problems. The position includes paid hands-on working interviews and potential hiring and certification bonuses. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship. U-Haul does not hire or re-hire nicotine-product users in Alabama and the other states listed in the posting.

Requirements

1–3 years of management experience in retail or another service industry, with responsibility for financial results and customer satisfaction.
Computer expertise.
Organizational expertise.
Management proficiency in high-volume retail with profit-and-loss accountability.
Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work weekends and holidays.
Legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Manage the fleet to deliver clean and well-maintained equipment.
Perform profit-and-loss analyses.
Hire and mentor new team members.
Track and itemize inventory.
Manage the personnel budget.
Ensure customers receive the highest quality of care.
Track fuel receipts and petty cash.
Clean and monitor the premises and maintain a secure environment.
Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
