About The Position

U-Haul is seeking a responsible, motivated, and thoughtful person to manage a moving and storage center in Ocala, Florida. The General Manager keeps the center profitable and efficient by hiring and mentoring staff, tracking inventory, managing equipment and budgets, and resolving problems. The work is varied, fast-paced, and includes ensuring customers receive high-quality service and that the premises remain clean and secure. The role involves moderate risks or discomforts, including working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritating chemicals. Protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields may be required. The job also involves physical exertion, including extended periods indoors and outdoors, remaining stationary, moving through spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving at least 50 pounds with or without assistance. Requirements

1–3 years of management experience in retail or another service industry, with responsibility for financial results and customer satisfaction.
Computer expertise.
Organizational expertise.
Management proficiency in high-volume retail with profit and loss (P&L) accountability.
Valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain a good driving record.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work weekends and holidays.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Manage the fleet to deliver clean and well-maintained equipment.
Perform profit/loss analyses.
Hire and mentor new team members.
Track and itemize inventory.
Manage the personnel budget.
Ensure customers receive the highest quality of care.
Keep track of fuel receipts and petty cash.
Clean and monitor the premises, and maintain a secure environment.
Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
