About The Position

EquipmentShare is hiring a General Manager for its Tooling rental facility in Newark, New Jersey. Tooling Solutions branches rent industrial equipment such as power, pneumatic, and hand tools, and provide tool tracking, site-wide communication solutions, tool testing, repair, certification, consumables, and industrial supplies. The General Manager leads branch employees and operations, with responsibility for developing the team, managing financial performance, monitoring business metrics, communicating expectations, and maintaining a safe work environment. The role uses EquipmentShare’s proprietary T3 technology to support equipment and operations management.

Requirements

At least 5 years of rental industry experience.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent leadership and people-management skills.
Results-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
Ability to adapt to the fast pace of a growing company and stay continuously educated on EquipmentShare products and services.

Nice To Haves

Rental industry experience in a management role.
Industrial tooling experience or knowledge.

Responsibilities

Hire, develop, train, and guide employees; conduct performance reviews and evaluations as needed.
Document employee improvement or corrective efforts.
Manage branch operations to maximize financial success.
Conduct monthly profit and loss reviews to understand business performance and trends, identify improvement areas, and find future revenue opportunities.
Monitor equipment utilization, underperforming assets, warranty recovery, billed mechanical hours, aged receivables, and customer satisfaction.
Communicate effectively with the team and management.
Set reasonable, measurable goals and well-defined expectations for team members.
Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
Stay educated on EquipmentShare products and services.
