About The Position

L3Harris is seeking an experienced General Ledger Accountant to join the Space and Mission Systems Segment Accounting organization. This team supports multiple business units across the United States by delivering general ledger and financial reporting services. Strong partnerships with the business and timely completion of deliverables are key components of our culture. The General Ledger Accountant will work collaboratively with the team to record, analyze, and reconcile accounting transactions for supported business units.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience; Or, Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience; Or, in lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience

Nice To Haves

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Public accounting or auditing experience strongly preferred
CPA certification or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam preferred
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
Strong analytical and research skills
Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or Alteryx is a plus
Experience with continuous improvement and process development

Responsibilities

Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, across multiple locations and time zones
Demonstrate strong accounting knowledge while working independently or as part of a team with general supervision
Collaborate with business partners to deliver efficient, accurate, and compliant accounting
Research accounting issues and recommends corrective actions
Review transactions to ensure appropriate accounting treatment
Perform month-end close activities to meet reporting deadlines
Prepare routine journal entries and general ledger reconciliations
Develop and document processes as needed
Support internal and external audit requests
Complete special assignments and ad hoc analyses
Ability to obtain US Government security clearance
