About The Position

The General Laborer assists with daily operational duties at the New Century FS retail supply facility in La Porte City, Iowa. The role supports facility operations, maintenance, inventory, product distribution, deliveries, and customer service while helping maintain the facility, equipment, and company image. The employee works with the location manager on safety and compliance issues and assists operations personnel. This is a seasonal position.

Requirements

Normally requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
Demonstrate business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making, and skill development.
Ability to work extended hours as business conditions warrant.
Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
Willingness to obtain and maintain a forklift certificate and a CDL.
Ability and willingness to participate in required training, including training on GROWMARK policies and procedures and other training related to the position.
Employment is contingent, as applicable and permissible by law, on acceptable job-related background, drug, motor vehicle, and/or reference checks.

Responsibilities

Assist with operations at the retail supply location.
Follow the maintenance schedule for the facility and equipment.
Assist with inventory and product distribution.
Drive and deliver miscellaneous products as requested.
Stock and move warehouse products and materials.
Assist full-time and part-time operations personnel.
Maintain the facility, equipment, and company image.
Help achieve goals by improving efficiency and reducing costs.
Provide excellent customer service.
Work with the location manager on safety and compliance issues.
Follow GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, and applicable Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA, and DOT policies and procedures.

Drive and run local errands as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
