About The Position

Waste Connections is hiring a safety-conscious Laborer for Turkey Creek Landfill in Alvarado, Texas. The role pays $18.00 per hour and involves working 50–55 hours per week. The Laborer helps manage landfill traffic, keep the site clean and presentable, perform yard work, install temporary wind fences, and complete general office maintenance and repairs. The work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions and includes strenuous physical labor and exposure to challenging environmental conditions.

Requirements

Adhere to the work schedule and follow through on challenges as they arise.
Have one year of stable employment history in a similar environment.
Be able to perform strenuous physical work, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 50 pounds.
Follow basic safety precautions when working around hazards or physical risks.

Responsibilities

Check trucks in and out of the landfill and direct traffic at the site as necessary.
Perform manual labor, including paper picking and keeping the landfill clean and presentable.
Perform yard work, including cutting weeds.
Install temporary wind fences as required.
Perform general office maintenance and repairs, including painting and janitorial work.
Work outside in all weather conditions.
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
