About The Position
The General Laborer supports the on-site assembly and completion of factory-built modular homes. The role assists with module connections, sealing and taping seams, floor transitions, rough carpentry, and other general construction tasks as directed by the Site Supervisor. The position also supports other trades and crew members, handles and organizes materials and tools, follows project plans and safety procedures, and helps maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
Requirements
- Basic construction or general labor experience preferred.
- Ability to perform basic rough carpentry and construction tasks.
- Ability to safely use common hand and power tools.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a construction crew.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, kneeling, and climbing.
- Reliable attendance and ability to work on active construction sites.
- Ability to follow direction from the Site Supervisor (Foreman or Superintendent).
Nice To Haves
- Experience with modular, manufactured, or factory-built home construction.
- Previous rough carpentry experience.
- Experience with flooring transitions, seam taping, or construction finishing.
- Experience working in residential construction.
- Familiarity with construction plans and basic building practices.
Responsibilities
- Assist with completing connections between modular home sections, including “buttoning up” areas between modules.
- Tape and seal seams between modules to achieve proper finishing and weather-tight connections.
- Install and complete floor transitions between modules and finished flooring areas.
- Perform rough carpentry and other general construction tasks as needed during on-site assembly.
- Assist other trades and crew members with construction and installation tasks.
- Load, unload, move, and organize materials and tools around the job site.
- Follow project plans, instructions, and direction from the Site Supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Safely use common hand and power tools.
- Identify and report construction issues or damaged materials to the Site Supervisor.
- Follow company and job-site safety procedures.
