General Laborer (Temporary Relocation Assignment)

About The Position

The General Laborer assists with the relocation of our Fabrication and Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Integration Shop to a new facility. This temporary assignment will support the movement, organization, setup and cleanup of equipment, materials, tools and work areas to ensure a smooth and efficient transition. This assignment is expected to last 2 months (October-November 2026) and will be through a contracting company.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in an industrial environment
  • Must be able to frequently lift, carry, push, pull, bend, and stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to use basic tools such as tape measures, impacts, drills and other hand tools
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience assisting with facility moves, equipment relocation or inventory organization
  • Experience operating forklifts
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the loading, unloading, movement and placement of equipment, tools, materials and inventory
  • Support shop relocation activities, including packing, labeling, organizing and staging materials
  • Help disassemble and reassemble shop fixtures, shelving, workstations and storage systems as directed
  • Maintain clean, organized and safe work areas throughout the relocation project
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, dollies and other material handling equipment as authorized
  • Follow company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Assist fabrication and I&E personnel with tasks related to the facility move
  • Dispose of debris, packaging materials and other waste generated during the relocation process
  • Utilize tape measures, impacts, drills and other hand tools
  • Perform general labor duties as assigned to support project timelines
  • Report unsafe conditions, equipment issues or incidents to supervision
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor
