General Labor (November), 1st Shift, Obion County
About The Position
This is an entry-level, non-skilled general labor position at a processing facility. Employees may work in any department while maintaining a safe work environment and following Tyson policies and procedures. Pay is $17.05 per hour for first shift; second shift pays an additional $2.00 per hour as a shift differential. Benefits begin on the day of hire. First shift is approximately 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., and second shift is approximately 4 p.m. to 1 a.m.; schedules depend on the department. Employees must be willing to work overtime and some weekends and holidays as production requires. Rehires are subject to a one-year wait period, and candidates who have worked for Tyson Foods or Tyson affiliates three or more times are not eligible for rehire.
Requirements
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Some positions require the ability to push, pull, carry, or lift more than 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to work in damp, cold or damp, hot environments.
- Ability to use hands and arms above shoulder level.
- Ability to stand for 8 to 10 hours a day.
- Ability to climb stairs to and from work areas.
- Must wear required personal protective equipment, including ear protection (plugs or muffs), a hair net, and a beard guard.
