About The Position

The General Labor position performs a variety of food-production tasks at Conagra Brands’ onsite facility in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Work includes preparing operations, rotating between line positions, feeding filler equipment with ingredients, filling nesting trays and carton magazines, assembling cases, placing product on the line, packing finished cartons into cases, and cleaning work areas and equipment. The role requires following safety regulations and meeting good manufacturing practice (GMP) and quality standards. The position pays up to $20.88 per hour, with a first-shift attendance bonus of $0.50.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 3 months of production or related experience.
Knowledge of GMPs and plant safety.
Understanding of damage and loss.
Knowledge of 5S principles.
Ability to work with pork, chicken, beef, shellfish, and other ingredients and allergens.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively.

Responsibilities

Work scheduled and assigned hours, including required overtime.
Follow instructions and communicate with production-line coworkers, working collaboratively as a team.
Use manufacturing equipment and tools to perform job duties.
Put on required personal protective equipment and safety gear; inspect equipment and verify safety devices are functioning properly.
Feed filler equipment with vegetables, protein, fillings, and sauces; position boxed meat at workstations; fill nesting hoppers and carton magazines; assemble cases; and monitor the case sealer and dough caps.
Manually place the proper portion of protein into trays as they move along the conveyor.
Pack finished product cartons into cases and push full cases to the case sealer.
Position empty pallets and hand-stack finished cases on pallets.
Keep the work area clean and clear; reseal and put away used components and packaging, break down boxes, dispose of trash properly, and clean tools and equipment.
Attend daily pre-shift, safety, and other meetings.
Lift up to 50 pounds repetitively.
