About The Position
General Labor is a versatile team member supporting production, sanitation, warehouse, and operational activities throughout the facility. The role helps maintain safe, efficient, and organized operations by assisting wherever business needs require. Employees are expected to work safely, maintain high housekeeping standards, support production flow, and uphold Teasdale’s food safety and quality standards. Professionalism, flexibility, teamwork, and a commitment to continuous improvement are expected. The position provides support across production operations, including empty-can handling, bean dump, soak deck, sorting belt, and filler and seamer activities. It also includes housekeeping, sanitation support, cross-training, and additional duties assigned by management. The role requires following food safety, quality, sanitation, and safety procedures while meeting production needs.

- Lift up to 50 pounds and push and pull carts or pallets.
- Work in hot, cold, wet, and noisy environments and wear required PPE.

Responsibilities
- Provide operational support throughout the facility and assist production departments based on business needs.
- Support production changeovers, startup activities, and production flow by assisting operators.
- Remove damaged empty cans, unwrap and stage empty-can pallets, prepare pallets for forklift operators, stack empty pallets safely, document empty-can usage when assigned, and supply empty cans to production.
- Assist Bean Dump Operators, follow bean dump procedures, communicate with the Bean Dump Driver, maintain housekeeping, report equipment or product concerns, and perform Food Safety Magnet inspections when assigned.
- Assist soak tank operators, maintain clean work areas, remove spills, trash, and debris, and support production preparation and housekeeping.
- Operate sorting belt control switches after training, monitor product flow, communicate with filler and seamer operators, sort product to standards, report foreign material findings, and support metal detection and food safety procedures.
- Assist filler and seamer operators, maintain product flow, supply materials, support startup, shutdown, and changeovers, and keep work areas clean and organized.
- Sweep production floors, remove trash, debris, cardboard, plastic wrap, and waste; empty trash containers; keep walkways and emergency exits clear; support 5S; and address housekeeping concerns before they become safety hazards.
- Assist the Sanitation Department, clean equipment during changeovers, support production cleanup, clean floors and production areas, follow sanitation and chemical safety procedures, and prepare production areas for startup.
- Assist other departments as needed, cross-train in multiple operational areas, perform duties assigned by management, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Follow GMP, SQF, food safety, quality, hygiene, contamination-prevention, and SOP requirements; report safety, quality, and food safety concerns.
- Work overtime and weekends as business needs require.
