About The Position

General labor is responsible for safely handling lumber products and verifying that materials meet customer requirements and company expectations. The role moves, stacks, labels, bundles, and secures materials, records production, maintains inventory of tags, and keeps the work area organized. The employee also supports other work areas and participates in safety, continuous improvement, and other programs and meetings.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• No minimum experience is required.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED.
• Manufacturing or lumber experience.
• Working knowledge of basic math.

Responsibilities

• Move and secure lumber products and other materials according to instructions.
• Stack finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and customer requirements.
• Label material according to type, size, and count specifications.
• Apply individual tags to material before or after treating or production.
• Use a staple gun and troubleshoot equipment.
• Band, bundle, and secure material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks.
• Stack material according to instructions, company policy, and customer requirements.
• Ensure correct quantities and material are strapped and labeled before leaving the work area.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of tags and report problems or discrepancies to a supervisor.
• Record production on production sheets.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Assist other work areas by moving material and loading and unloading material carts.
• Participate in safety, continuous improvement, and other programs and meetings.
• Perform other duties as required.
