About The Position

HES is hiring General Custodians to provide custodial services at the University of Superior Wisconsin. The role involves cleaning and maintaining interior and exterior areas, including floors, restrooms, locker rooms, entryways, windows, and common furnishings and surfaces. Work takes place in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment and requires reliable, detail-oriented work and the ability to take direction and work with others. The position is full-time, on second shift, and includes weekend work. The role reports to the Site Supervisor.

Requirements

Maintain an excellent work history.
Work effectively with others and take direction.
Work efficiently with attention to detail in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment.
Have reliable transportation.
Pass a background check.
Be able to reach, bend, stoop, wipe, push, and pull.
Be able to frequently lift, push, pull, or carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
Be able to walk and stand extensively for the duration of the shift.
Have sufficient mobility to complete assigned tasks within established production and service time frames.
Be able to work in temperatures ranging from hot to cold.

Nice To Haves

High school degree.
Previous cleaning experience.

Responsibilities

Sweep, dust, dust mop, damp mop, vacuum, extract carpet, and strip and wax floors.
Remove trash and recycling.
Clean and sanitize restrooms and locker rooms.
Polish the outside area within 10 feet of entryways.
Wash windows and clean desks, walls, furniture, doors, entry and interior glass, countertops, chalkboards, whiteboards, blinds, and light fixtures.
Remove snow and ice.
Perform other duties as directed by the custodial supervisor or the supervisor’s designated representative.
