About The Position

HES is hiring General Cleaners to maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of assigned areas in schools. The role involves performing a range of custodial duties to keep facilities clean and sanitary. Positions are available in Johnson City, Kingsport, and Jonesboro. Work is offered full-time or part-time, Monday through Friday, on a second shift with schedules of 3:00 p.m.–11:30 p.m., 4:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m., or 5:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m. Pay is $12–$13 per hour, depending on experience. Travel is not required.

Requirements

Excellent work history.

Ability to work efficiently with attention to detail in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment.
Reliable transportation.
Fingerprint background check required.
Ability to reach, bend, stoop, wipe, push, and pull.
Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, or carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
Ability to walk and stand extensively for the duration of the shift.
Sufficient mobility to perform assigned tasks within company production and service time frames.
Ability to work in temperatures ranging from hot to cold.

Nice To Haves

Previous cleaning experience is a plus but is not required.

Responsibilities

Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of all assigned areas.
Sweep, dust, dust mop, damp mop, vacuum, extract carpets, and strip and wax floors.
Remove trash and recycling.
Clean and sanitize restrooms and locker rooms.
Polish outside areas within 10 feet of entryways.
Wash windows and clean desks, walls, furniture, doors, entry glass, interior glass, countertops, chalkboards, whiteboards, blinds, and light fixtures.
Perform other duties as directed by the custodial supervisor or their designated representative.
