About The Position

General Cleaners are responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of all assigned areas at TN Tech University. They perform a range of cleaning duties to maintain the daily upkeep and cleanliness of the facility. This is a full-time, first-shift position with hours from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. The role involves working in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment and requires efficient work with attention to detail.

Requirements

Excellent work history.
Team-focused approach and ability to work with others and take direction.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
Reliable transportation.
Ability to reach, bend, stoop, wipe, push, and pull.
Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, or carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
Ability to walk and stand extensively for the duration of the shift.
Sufficient mobility to perform assigned tasks within company production and service time frames.
Ability to work in temperatures ranging from hot to cold.

Nice To Haves

High school degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Sweep, dust, dust mop, damp mop, vacuum, extract carpet, and strip and wax floors.
Remove trash and recycling.
Clean and sanitize restrooms and locker rooms.
Polish outside areas within 10 feet of entryways.
Wash windows and clean desks, walls, furniture, doors, entry glass, interior glass, countertops, chalkboards, whiteboards, blinds, and light fixtures.
Perform other duties as directed by the custodial supervisor or their designated representative.
