About The Position

HES is hiring General Cleaners to maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of assigned areas at Tennessee Tech. The role involves performing a range of custodial duties in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment while working efficiently and paying attention to detail. The listed schedule is second shift, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday; the posting identifies the role as available full-time or part-time. Duties include cleaning floors and carpets, removing trash and recycling, sanitizing restrooms and locker rooms, cleaning furnishings and surfaces, washing windows and interior glass, and polishing areas immediately outside entryways. Employees may also perform other duties as directed by a custodial supervisor or their designated representative. The position requires extensive walking and standing, work in temperatures ranging from hot to cold, and the ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Sufficient mobility to perform assigned tasks within company production and service time frames.
Ability to work in temperatures ranging from hot to cold.

Responsibilities

Sweep, dust, dust mop, damp mop, vacuum, extract carpet, and strip and wax floors.
Remove trash and recycling.
Clean and sanitize restrooms and locker rooms.
Polish areas outside within 10 feet of entryways.
Wash windows and clean desks, walls, furniture, doors, entry glass, interior glass, countertops, chalkboards, whiteboards, blinds, and light fixtures.
Perform other duties as directed by the custodial supervisor or their designated representative.
