About The Position

Blue Chip Pros is seeking a General Cleaner to perform a variety of cleaning activities at assigned facilities, keeping them clean, sanitary, and orderly. The role includes cleaning rooms, bathrooms, floors, grounds, public common areas, and food-court spaces; using appropriate cleaning solutions and equipment; and inspecting completed work. The cleaner also provides courteous customer service, reports maintenance issues to a supervisor, and performs other duties as assigned, which may include floor care and carpet cleaning.

Requirements

Knowledge of basic janitorial operations, methods, materials, and equipment.
Knowledge of basic safe work practices.
Knowledge of the use of toxic and non-toxic chemicals, including reading MSDS sheets.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to communicate sufficiently with coworkers and supervisors.
Ability to operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.
Ability to interpret written instructions and warning labels on cleaning chemicals.
Ability to maintain the physical condition required for assigned duties, including extended walking, standing, or sitting; operating equipment; lifting and carrying 1–30 pounds; pushing and pulling with 5–35 pounds of force; climbing stairs and ladders; bending, twisting, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, grasping, and fingering.
Ability to use sight, depth perception, and hand-eye coordination to perform cleaning tasks and operate equipment safely.

Responsibilities

High-dust surfaces and clean ledges, lights, vents, and other elevated areas.
Sanitize and spot-clean surfaces, including furniture, telephones, countertops, trash cans, doorknobs, walls, and windows.
Clean bathrooms, including sinks and toilets, and check and refill soap and paper dispensers as needed.
Empty trash cans, wipe them if needed, and replace liners.
Dust mop, spot mop, vacuum, and sanitize floors, including under furniture and behind doors.
Clean and inspect exterior grounds, including ash urns, trash cans, sidewalks, flower beds, curb lines, parking lots, benches, vending machines, and public-area glass.
Maintain public common areas by cleaning hallways, glass, planters, and window areas, and checking for debris and cobwebs.
Clean food-court tables, sanitize surfaces, return chairs to their places, empty trash, clean trays using a tray power washer, and police outside eating areas.
Inspect completed work and correct issues with cleanliness or furniture placement.
Clean hallways, lobbies, stairs, water fountains, and furniture; perform wall spotting and high dusting daily.
Treat customers courteously, answer or refer questions, work quietly, remain in the assigned area unless directed otherwise, and report broken or out-of-order items to a supervisor.
Report unfinished assignments to a supervisor at the end of the shift.
Perform other duties as assigned, including possible floor stripping and waxing, carpet extraction and bonneting, and floor auto-scrubbing and buffing.
