About The Position

Blue Chip Pros is hiring a General Cleaner to perform a variety of cleaning activities at assigned facilities, keeping them clean, sanitary, and orderly. The role includes cleaning rooms and bathrooms, emptying trash, dusting or vacuuming floors, sanitizing surfaces and floors, and maintaining grounds and public common areas. The cleaner also supports food-court cleanliness, checks completed work, and provides courteous service to customers. Other duties may be assigned by a supervisor or Account Manager, including floor care such as stripping and waxing, carpet extraction and bonneting, and floor auto-scrubbing and buffing.

Requirements

Knowledge of basic janitorial work operations, methods, materials, and equipment.
Knowledge of basic safe work practices.
Knowledge of the use of toxic and non-toxic chemicals, including following MSDS sheets and interpreting written instructions and warning labels.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to communicate sufficiently with coworkers and supervisors.
Ability to operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.
Ability to maintain the physical condition required to perform assigned duties, including prolonged walking, standing, or sitting; lifting and carrying equipment, supplies, and trash weighing 1–30 pounds; pushing and pulling with both arms while exerting 5–35 pounds of force; climbing stairs and ladders; bending, twisting, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching overhead, handling, grasping, and fingering.
Ability to use sight, depth perception, and hand-eye coordination to perform cleaning tasks and operate equipment safely.

Responsibilities

High-dust surfaces above shoulder height, including lights, vents, curtain tips, and ledges.
Sanitize and spot-clean surfaces below shoulder height; remove fingerprints and smudges; spot-clean windows.
Clean bathrooms, including sinks and toilets, and check and refill soap and paper dispensers as needed.
Empty trash cans, wipe them if they contain liquid, and replace liners.
Dust-mop or vacuum floors, including under furniture and in restrooms.
Clean and inspect outdoor areas, including ash urns, trash cans, sidewalks, flower beds, curb lines, parking lots, benches, vending machines, window ledges, and public-area glass; remove gum and spot-clean spills.
Maintain public common areas by dust-mopping and spot-mopping hallways, cleaning glass, cleaning planters, and checking for cobwebs and debris.
Clean food-court tables, sanitize surfaces, return chairs to their places, spot-clean spills, empty trash, transport dirty trays to the washroom, operate the tray power washer, stack clean trays, and police outdoor eating areas.
Sanitize floors using the proper germicidal solution, mopping under furniture and behind doors.
Inspect completed rooms, review cleaning steps, check furniture placement, and correct issues as needed.
Clean halls, lobbies, stairs, water fountains, and furniture; perform wall spotting and high dusting daily.
Knock before entering occupied rooms; assist customers courteously or refer them to someone who can help.
Report broken or out-of-order items to a supervisor, work quietly, remain in the assigned work area unless directed otherwise, and report unfinished assignments at the end of a shift.
Perform other duties as assigned, which may include floor care and carpet cleaning.
Operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment and use cleaning materials safely.
