About The Position

Blue Chip Pros is seeking a General Cleaner to perform cleaning activities at an assigned facility, maintaining clean, sanitary, and orderly conditions and completing other related duties. The position is listed for Academy on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday mornings, four hours per day. Duties include high dusting; sanitizing and spot cleaning surfaces; cleaning bathrooms; emptying trash; dust mopping or vacuuming floors; and sanitizing floors. The cleaner also maintains grounds, public common areas, and food-court areas, including removing litter, cleaning glass and surfaces, sanitizing tables, and handling and washing trays. After cleaning, the employee checks the work and corrects issues as needed. The role includes courteous customer service, reporting broken or out-of-order items to a supervisor, staying in the assigned work area, and maintaining a neat appearance. Other duties may be assigned by a supervisor or Account Manager, including floor stripping and waxing, carpet extraction and bonneting, and floor auto-scrubbing and buffing. Requirements

Knowledge of basic janitorial operations, methods, materials, and equipment.
Knowledge of basic safe work practices.
Knowledge of the use of toxic and non-toxic chemicals, including following MSDS sheets.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and interpret cleaning-chemical instructions and warning labels.
Ability to communicate sufficiently with coworkers and supervisors.
Ability to operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.
Ability to maintain the physical condition required for assigned duties, including extended walking, standing, or sitting; lifting and carrying 1–30 pounds; pushing and pulling with 5–35 pounds of force; climbing stairs and ladders; bending, twisting, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, grasping, and fingering.
Sight, depth perception, and hand-eye coordination sufficient to perform cleaning tasks and operate equipment and tools safely.

Responsibilities

High-dust surfaces above shoulder height using appropriate equipment.
Sanitize surfaces below shoulder height and spot-clean fingerprints, smudges, and windows.
Clean and disinfect bathrooms, including sinks and toilets; check and refill soap and paper dispensers as needed.
Empty trash cans, wipe them when needed, and replace liners.
Dust mop or vacuum floors, including beneath furniture, and clean the mophead and dispose of collected dust.
Clean and inspect outdoor areas, including ash urns, trash cans, sidewalks, flower beds, curbs, benches, vending machines, window ledges, public glass, and parking areas.
Maintain public common areas by dust mopping and spot mopping hallways, cleaning glass and planters, and checking for cobwebs and debris.
Clean food-court tables and trash cans, spot-clean spills, return chairs to their places, take dirty trays to the washroom, operate the tray washer, stack clean trays, and police outdoor eating areas.
Sanitize floors, working from the back of the room toward the exit and cleaning beneath furniture and behind doors.
Inspect completed work, check furniture placement, and make corrections as needed.
Clean halls, lobbies, stairs, water fountains, furniture, and walls; perform daily wall spotting and high dusting.
Provide courteous customer service, work quietly, report broken or out-of-order items, remain in the assigned work area unless directed otherwise, and report unfinished assignments to a supervisor.
Perform other assigned duties, potentially including floor stripping and waxing, carpet extraction and bonneting, and floor auto-scrubbing and buffing.
