About The Position

Blue Chip Pros is seeking a General Cleaner to perform cleaning activities at the assigned facility and maintain it in a clean, sanitary, and orderly condition. Duties include high dusting; sanitizing and spot cleaning; bathroom cleaning and replenishing dispensers; emptying trash; dust mopping and vacuuming; floor sanitizing; and cleaning grounds, public common areas, and the food court. The cleaner inspects completed rooms and corrects issues as needed to help prevent complaints. The role also involves courteous customer interactions, reporting broken or out-of-order items to a supervisor, working quietly, maintaining a neat appearance, remaining in the assigned work area unless directed otherwise, and notifying a supervisor if assigned work is unfinished at shift end. Other duties may be assigned by a supervisor or Account Manager, including floor stripping and waxing, carpet extraction and bonneting, and floor auto-scrubbing and buffing.

Requirements

Knowledge of basic janitorial operations, methods, materials, and equipment.
Knowledge of basic safe work practices and the use of toxic and non-toxic chemicals according to MSDS sheets.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, including written instructions and warning labels on cleaning chemicals.
Ability to communicate sufficiently with coworkers and supervisors.
Ability to operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.
Ability to maintain the physical condition needed to perform assigned duties, including extended walking, standing, or sitting; lifting and carrying equipment, supplies, and trash weighing 1–30 pounds; pushing and pulling with 5–35 pounds of force; climbing stairs and ladders; bending, twisting, balancing, kneeling, crouching, and crawling; and reaching, handling, grasping, and fingering, including overhead reaching throughout the shift.
Sufficient sight, depth perception, and hand-eye coordination to perform cleaning tasks, operate equipment, and maintain safety.

Responsibilities

High-dust surfaces and clean ledges, vents, lights, and other elevated areas.
Sanitize surfaces below shoulder height and spot-clean fingerprints, smudges, and windows.
Clean bathrooms, including sinks and toilets, and check and refill soap and paper dispensers as needed.
Empty trash cans, wipe them if they contain liquid, and replace liners.
Dust mop or vacuum rooms, including under furniture, and clean up dust and debris.
Clean and inspect outdoor areas, including ash urns, trash cans, sidewalks, flower beds, curb lines, benches, vending machines, window ledges, public-area glass, and parking lots.
Dust mop and spot mop public hallways; clean glass and planters; and check corners, edges, and window areas for debris and cobwebs.
Clean and sanitize food-court tables, spot-clean spills, empty trash cans, and police outdoor eating areas.
Move dirty trays to the washroom, clean them with the tray power washer, and stack clean trays for reuse.
Sanitize floors, including under furniture and behind doors.
Inspect completed rooms, check furniture placement, and make corrections as needed.
Clean halls, lobbies, stairs, water fountains, and furniture; perform wall spotting and high dusting daily.
Interact courteously with customers, answer questions or refer them to someone who can, and report broken or out-of-order items to a supervisor.
Work quietly, maintain a neat personal appearance, remain in the assigned area unless directed otherwise, and report unfinished assignments at the end of the shift.
Perform other assigned duties, which may include floor stripping and waxing, carpet extraction and bonneting, and floor auto-scrubbing and buffing.
